
Join us as we recognize and celebrate the efforts of two creatives and their commitment to social justice and empowering the Chicano community and similarly under-served communities. Meet Estella Sanchez, Founder of Sol Collective, a community-based partnership whose mission is to provide artistic, cultural, and educational programming, promote social justice, and empower youth through art, activism, music, and media experience; and Xico González, an award winning educator, curator, interdisciplinary artist, poet, and a political and cultural activista/organizer.
Creativity Speaks is a program designed to celebrate local creatives, offer attendees a source of inspiration from creatives outside their industry, and strengthen Sacramento’s creative community. The program manifests as live salon-style events and features traditional and non-traditional creatives to help draw a mixed audience and encourage intermingling between creative industries. Creativity Speaks is dedicated to equitable representation and a celebration of the diversity of creative thought.
